Climate Change is a growing threat. Since the industrial revolution, corporations have spewed carbon dioxide into our atmosphere with no regard for the future of humanity. Past administrations have done nothing to combat Climate Change and Republicans today want to continue this trend. We need to act now to prevent Climate Change. Scientists say that we only have a few years left before Climate Change’s impacts become irreversible.

Our Solution:

1. Put Environmental Restrictions on Corporations:

   1. Republicans, that are in the pocket of major corporations, have routinely rolled back environmental restrictions on corporations. This will stop with my Presidency. I will give the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) the most power it has ever received to restrict corporations. Corporations will be prevented from polluting our air, poisoning our waterways, and contributing to Climate Change.

2. Create a Carbon Tax

   1. Under Gov. Jack's administration, he would create a Carbon Tax where corporations would have to pay $10 for each metric ton of Carbon Dioxide that they emit. The revenue generated by this tax would go to creating renewable forms of energy. Not only would this disincentive corporations from creating emissions, but it will give the U.S. revenue that it will be able to use to fight Climate Change.

3. Invest in Renewable Energy

   1.  My administration will use revenue from the Carbon Tax and it will divert other Government funds to invest into renewable energy. We strive to tremendously increase the amount of solar farms, wind farms, geothermal plants, Nuclear plants, and hydro-power plants. Doing this will give our Country a sustainable way to move forward and power our nation.

4. Create a Climate Change Defense Fund:

   1. Because of inaction in Republican administrations, Climate Change is already affecting us. We need to take money and set it aside so that we can react and respond to the effects of Climate Change. When a natural disaster hits and when sea levels rise, we will be prepared.
